Well, no electricity at the house, and won't have any 'til tomorrow. The power company pulled their crews until tomorrow due to wind, cold, and life-threatening conditions. Wyoming's annual spring blizzard. No heat and no water since the well pump is down with no electricity, so we evacuated. Luckily, the friend whose house we're stayin' at said I could use her computer for chat tonight, so I'll be there, since I have nothin' else to do...well, Ida been there anyways, LOL.

I would be panicing right about now. You sound like you are used to it!! I guess there's nothing you can do about it! (It is what it is) Hope your fish all make it okay. Also here's hoping your power will come back tommorrow!

No fish yet, just finished up the fish room. Well almost, was gonna finish the trim up today. Didn't get the 225 into the fish room this weekend either, though. Took most of next week off, so I'll have tanks set up and cycling next weekend.

Thanks for the concern, though, folks.

Power's not off in town, so the fishies at work should be just fine.

'Nother year or so and I'll have the windmill in, and I'll be generating my own electricity, so won't have to worry if this happens.

Snow...

The "Old Ones" used to tell stories of white frozen water falling from the sky...

We hit eighty degrees down here today. I can sympathize though, I was without power for two weeks after Hurricane Katrina, and the house temp averaged 96 degrees. I had to "ice" the aquariums to save my fish.

I saw the weather in your area and holy crap!

About the windmill does your state allow you to sell your excess electricity back to the power company?

Man you don't hurry up and get those tanks in I'm gonna have to drive up and put em in myself...lol. Chat from a friends house "PRICELESS" and what dedication I appreciate the dedication to the forum Ivan. The weather here is snow too we got about 12 inches in the last two days was windy last week maybe more this week...not unusual to get 100 mph gusts here...live in a valley and yes I used to work in WY always windy there.

Federal Law states they have to buy it back if ya hook up that way. It's pennies on the dollar, though.

Ahhh I see. Would you have back up batteries to store the extra electricity then?

That's the plan. It's an extra $3k initially, but the peace of mind for a long term shut down would be worth the initial investement.

Blah...Hopefully the snow has ended here. I guess it's a good thing you didn't get your fish room set up yet.

I am kind of glad that I am so far north that general week-long"blizzards" don't happen. But I still have 3 feet of snow in my backyard, and growing/pond season is so short (5 months).
