Looking for the glass for a 75g all glass tank with center brace, and I need one extra large piece for a 75 as well,

Shoot me a price plus shipping if you have any thing,

You can get acrylic tops from glasscages.com for about $28 each which is very reasonable.

Another choice would be just go buy 4 cuts of glass from the hardware store and get hindges for it from them.

I thought If you can't find them used you have a couple other choices!

Plexiglass is also pretty cheep and can be hindged very easy.

Keep in mind that Plexiglass may warp if not framed with a ridged material.

I would go to a local glass company and get the glass cut then go to Lowe's or Home Depot go to the wallboard isle and get the track that you use to connect the 4x8 sheets of wall board ( paneling) you can use this as a hinge by siliconing two pcs together or use the track to make a sliding glass top . We have made many of these in the past and are still in operation today.

I like the sliding glass idea!

If you go the plexi route you just need to get the step up size the hardware store carries.

I don't remember the exact measurements, but my local lowes has something like 1/8th thickness and 3/8ths thickness and the 1/8th stuff warps like warm butter. Whatever the thicker one is works just fine tho cutting it is more a pain.

See my DIY topic on my plywood tank. I went to lowes and got a 72" 1/8th thick sheet of plexi for 50 bucks. I had to double it up and I wraped the tank with metal bands to keep the whole thing from warping.

I am assuming this is completed. Moving to archives.
