| Well I walked into my principals office today at school and he has a 5 gallon fish tank with a paroon shark ( Ithink), 2 pacus, and a oscar. I started telling how that THAT tank was way to small for all those fish. I told them that the oscar would need a 75 gallon and the pacus 125 and up, and the same with the paroon or whatever he is. Anyway he says you know a lot about fish he gives them to me and I say '' I am crowded with fish already. I am in the process of building a pond for all my cats'. I've found homes for the pacus and oscar there going to a guy from MFK with a big pond. Now I've decide to keep the Panginus because I don't know if he is a paroon, ID or what ever. I have an id shark already and he looks nothing like him. So I take a few pics... for you guys. I may add him to the pond if hes not a dwarf. I personally think hes a paroon or a Pangasius pangasius Sorry about crappy pics. Alex |

| Sorry, but I think you are full of shit....where is the Oscar and the 2 Pacus? What are you going to do with another potential big catfish you don't even have a positive ID on? _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Ohh excuse me... if you don't see them in the pics there not there. I gave them to a local fish club who grows them out and then probably gives them to a local museum. OK |

| No offense, SDD, and you have every right to tell me to go to the dogs if you don't like what I am about to say. But may I offer some advice? I set up an outdoor pond every spring, but must take it down in fall due to climate. I bring in a few of my favorites, the rest go tot the LFS. My LFS loves the 4-5" goldfish I bring them every fall. Every late winter/spring I am very eager to go and get extra goldfish (I know the temptation of "just one more fish" very well). But I have to restrain myself. The best way is to say "no more fish until the pond is for at least 2 weeks and is stable".
Basically wait until the pond is up before getting any more fish. Murphy's law says what can go wrong - will. There will probably be unforeseen problems in the ponds construction, which will delay its usable date.
As I always say to other beginners (and some no so beginners) - patience is priceless, and your fish will thank you for it.
Just my two cents. |
