| In a case of fishy domestic violence. I am now rehabbing one 4" flowerhorn that got dropped off. Once it gets acclimated I'll be taking some pictures. It looks like hell on the one side, but it's very very active and hoovering food. It was with three others originally, but this one was the runt of the group and got picked on for it. The baby shriek of delight when he saw it may even get me a new bigger tank out of the deal to keep it in to boot. |

| I'm on the fence. They're really pretty but I'm not too thrilled about it essentially having to live alone due to their anger management issues.
The one year old really really likes it though, so we'll see. I'll have to play the tank shuffle game if we're gonna keep him permanently. Gotta look up how big these bastards get too. |

| I have seen some that were close to 15 16 inches and just as tall. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die".

| I'm not sure what to make of the info I'm reading either. Apparently it's the norm for "true" Flowerhorn keepers to cram them into a just slightly too small aquarium so they don't get too long.
Like there were seriously a few sites recommending a 40 for a single adult.
I forget the gallonage, but they had a 2x3x2 tank on sale at Nemo's last week. I believe it was a 90 tall or extra tall or something around that. Wonder if that would work. |

| A 90 Gallon would be minimum for one but can likely be kept for life in there. They are pretty lazy compared to some Cichlids and don't require a whole lot of foot print for swimming space. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | Wait a second Wyite. I thought the dark side was keeping Africans? Hrm. 90g tank. Oh no. I may have to call and see if the tank is still on sale. Not another tank. That would be a horrible thing. Really. Perish the thought.. Of getting another tank, and setting it up and.. the horror! |

| I already have the mental image of the tank I'd want to set up for it.
I want to get some old (clean) big medicine bottles. Hopefully blue or green, and to light the tank from underneath with leds up into the bottles to highlight the purple on it.. |
