Diet: Live food but can be changed to dead foods like silversides, Prawn, beef heart, Earthworms. Bloodworms and brine shrimp are appropriate for juveniles
Tankmates: Any large fish. Just remember that D. pulcher is a predatory fish and will eat anything it can fit into its mouth.
Temperament: D. pulcher is a peaceful with other large fish and can become aggressive towards others of the same species.
Description: D. pulcher has a sharply slanted forehead with a gold toned body that has full black vertical bars which usually extend across the entire body. Depending upon which part of the river your located on, they can have between 5 and 7 bars.
