Recently a Con Man,,Got a 5 inch male con from a 10 gallon tank. Hes in a 29 by himself now ,any ideas what could go in with him or should i keeep him alone..

A female con. He needs a girlfriend.

i dunno a 29 has only a 30 inch long by 12 inch wide foot print, i wouldnt personally put a female in a tank that size with a 5 inch male, i would put my money on him killing her cause she cant get away from him, i honestly wouldnt put anything with him till he was in something bigger

I think you'd be just fine with another female. Cons aren't that evil, so long as you get an adult female you should be fine.

Some tetras for dithers, plecos, etc...

If you put a female in with him you will need a bigger tank very soon because of all the fry you will end up with.

I've used 20 longs for breeding set-ups with 5-6" and smaller cichlids for years, with the pair left in there for continuous breeding. Same footprint as a 29. A pair of convicts will be fine. You will need to remove the fry at a fairly young age, though, to maintain water quality. They'll spawn again within a week or two once the first batch of fry is removed, then you'll have to remove those...and they'll breed again, etc., LOL. Convicts are not the easiest fish to get rid of unless ya have somethin' to feed 'em to, especially if you've already flooded the local market with previous spawns.

Ya may be better off with a small school of giant danios and a smaller pleco if ya don't want to mess with getting rid of the fry.
