This is my new chinchilla. Her name is rose and I bought her as an early birthday gift for my girlfriend.

Aww, bless! She's absolutely adorable! Mmmmmmm... can imagine how gorgeous and soft she is... I've only held chinchillas a few times, but their fur is like a dream (less could be said for them wanting to be held... lol! I was used as a climbingfame).

Thanks! She loves to be held and is very friendly. I think later down the road we might get a boy and breed her. The breeders are few and far between here.

We have a pair of females,my daughters,but I take care of them. You should not leave their dust baths in with them. The will pee in them eventually. Since you can't get them wet,the will smell like pee for weeks.

Also if you do breed,you can only breed certain colors together. Not sure of which ones cannot be mixed,but research before you breed,if it is not too late.

They also like big cages with different levels. We have one that is 3' wide x 2' deep x 4' high with 4 levels. Overkill,but like fish,the bigger the better. Plus with having 2,the bigger cage is nice.
