PostSubject: anglefish eggs   Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:08 am

Last night I was checking on all of the fish and I found 2 of my angles guarding a filter. Well lo and behold I found eggs Very Happy . So proceded to move the rest of the fish snails included. But I think I interupted the happy couple. Well the eggs are gone Crying or Very sad I'm hoping that they'll keep going. They all get a variable diet. Is there anything else I can do to induce spawning?

They will keep trying. Feeding live foods will help condition them. Now that the other fish/snails are out they should have the run of the tank! :gluk:

Now that the initial disturbance is done & there's nothing in the tank w/ them, they should lay away

Water changes with cooler water that will simulate rain and trigger them to spawn. Also increase temp to 86 degrees F , feed lots of live or frozen foods this will give them the necessary nourishment needed to spawn as this takes a lot of energy to spawn.

Do cooler water changes then slowly up the tank up to 86 like getting comets to breed or should the water be left at 86 and just toss the cooler water in on the change?

Add the cooler water at the time you are filling back up from a W/C.
