| Hello All! Im Ed, live in Missouri and have been keeping tropical fish for about 15 years. Currently I have a 125 gal.( 2 Emp. 400s & a Cascade 700) with 3, 7-8 inch Oscars, a 1, 5-6 inch Jack Dempsey (new addition 01-03-09, went to Petco for some supplies and saw him in a 5 gal tank lying on his side, beat up bad and missing 80% of his tail fin. He had been there for about a week. I talked the manager into letting me have the poor thing. Hes eating now and doing his best to keep up with the Oscars.) 1, 6-7 inch Leporinus (another rescued fish from Petco. Hes been with us for about 5 months now. He/She has all its fins back and is eating well and loves to cruz the tank with the Oscars.) 1, 6 inch Columbain Shark/Catfish 1 large African Clawed Frog and a 4-5 inch Common Pleco.
I have a 55 gal.(2 AC HOBs rated for 75 gal tanks & UGF power by 2 Power Heads rated at 170 gph.) with 2, 3-4 inch Angelfish, 3 small 2 inch Parrot Fish, 1, small 2 inch Blue Lobster (Crayfish) 1, small African Clawed Frog, 1, 2 inch Chinese Algae Eater and a pair of med. sized Convicts (mating like rabbits), and lots of live plants and hiding places.
I also have 3, 30 gals.(1 AC HOB rated for 60 gal. & UGF powered by air stones.) 1 has 2 Flag fish, 2 Cory cats, 2 Fiddler crabs(I keep a wieghted small fishbowl turned on its side with air in it so they can get out of the water when they feel the need), a Dwarf Africn Frog, and 2 Goldfish, a tiny 1 inch Black Mor and a fat little Ryukin, and lots of live plants. 30 gal.(AC HOB Rated for 60 gal.) number 2, has Platy fish( To many to count) 4 small/med potted live plants , I trade the Platys at the LFS for frozen blood worms and plants. The third 30 gal. (AC HOB rated for 60 gal.) and Eclipse 5 gal Hex.(Has its own filter with bio wheel built in) that I have are hospital tanks. I put Platys in them now and then when I get to many. I keep small Chinese algae eaters in both.
Well thats all of them. I do 25% water change/gravel clean every Mon. and Thur. on all the tanks. Feed a mix of Pellets, sticks, flake, frozen and different veggies/fruits (The Oscars love oranges even the JD is eating them) to all the fish. Ill post pics as soon as I can.
Im joining this site to learn as much as I can and to chat with folks who have a passion for fish keeping. Hope to chat with you all soon. Ed
