Anyone interested in native North American species besides me? Or in some cases for a few members, European species? Know it could be argued that fish from the southern states aren't cold water, but most don't truly fall under tropical either.

Anyways, back in college I kept plains killifish (Fundulus zebrinus), johnny darters (Etheostoma nigrum ) and Iowa darters (Etheostoma exile). The killies are very attractive. The darters are kind of dull outside of spawning dress, but make up for it with personality. Collecting your own fish is kinda fun as well.

Heck, were only what, 'bout a 120 miles from each other? Don't recall if I ever mentioned it, I'm in Cheyenne. Ya got an extra 20 long or 30? Nice size for darters. Could meet for a days collectin' trip or two this summer if you're interested.

I've been readin' yer thread with saint_felony on that. They are cool fish. Bein' game fish, ya would want to make sure ya clarify the legality and licensing requirements (if any) of it in Missouri before ya got any. Importation of pike into Wyoming for example, requires a certification of health by a certifified aquatic veterinarian, and then an additional permit to keep them.

yeah it would be hard. i would need to keep the reciepts because they would be below the keep standards of muskie in Missouri and i could only get 1 per person at my house which would be 4 so idk i still need to find someone who will sell me 4 of them or if they are in Missouri if they could find a loophole or a better way to do that
