| I had a heater expolde in my planted 10 gallon lastnight. I didnt loose any fish but I think I'm going to loose my mystery snails. I removed everything from the tank and I broke it down. the snails are in my 20 gallon with the rams and they are floating at the top. I hope they pull through |

| this is why the only heater i buy is stealth heaters, their expensive, but you get the peace of mind that something like this wont and cant happen |

| Blah. That sucks. We had a heater pop a while back on a handful of harmless tropicals. I felt bad that they all got cooked. Hopefully the snails do better.
My apples just laid eggs tho, and if they hatch I can mail you some. They're Cana however and will devour anything plant based (and some sponge filters too) |

| Bummer Dude. I hope your Escargot survive. I agree with Mahemahe Stealth is the way to go. They're a little more expensive, but I've yet to have one malfunction.

| I've had a stealth die on me once, but Marineland is *awesome* about the lifetime guarantee. They had me out a new one in about 2 days from when I called. I've been slowly replacing all my heaters with those as they go on sale. |

| I have stealths on all of my other tanks but this one. why didnt my fish die? Its looking like 2 of my snails are going to pull through.
Saint I'm down for some apple snails.
I set my tank back up and went to my LFS and got a stealth. Right now they are floating at the top of the tank hanging half in half out of there shells. |

| If it wasn't from voltage I wonder if there's some sort of chemicals in the heater that affected just the snails. I thought they all got zapped. As for the snail eggs, I don't know when they laid it, but I saw last night one gigantic cluster of eggs in the corner of the tank. It's the first time this batch has done that so I'm hoping some of them hatch. I'll have to look into the best way to hatch them out. I have the apples in with the discus and I'm not sure if the discus will eat the tiny snails. They totally ignore the big ones but the apples are almost as big as they are. |

| I noticed that one snails shell was cracked open. There must have been a chemical in the heater.
My discus never touched my pond, MTS and ramshells so I think you might be ok.
On another note did you talk to your friend about the rescued chins? |

| Cracked? Yikes. I've only ever seen them cracked from getting beat on. I wonder what could have been in there. Was it a ceramic heater? I thought those were just the ceramic and heat coils. Anything else in there I would have thought to be just inert gas. |

| I wonder if the there was some type of powder in it that could have effected them? Good news though they all made it through! |
