| Biotope tank? Can't remember off the top of my head, but the L240 is from Rio Xingu or Rio Tocantins IIRC. Clear water rivers. Add some cichlids and catfish from the region, say Geophagus cf. altifrons "Rio Tocantins", an oscar, some festivums. Don't recall what catfish species live in that region right off. Maybe some Leporinus. Then again, I'm partial to biotope tanks.

| Hey, hey, long time no see, LC!
How big is the banded leporinus? I got mine at about 7" and he's pushin' 11" now. Never kept one before, but I'm enjoying him. He doesn't take any crap of the cichlids in that tank, even the oscar that's 2 or 3" longer than he is. The other thing is, the older he gets, the brighter the yellow on him gets. Nice, when so many fish fade out as they get larger.
Glad to hear things are goin' good, stop in more often!

| Had a group of 7 Leporinus Fasciatus(?), they take no crap that's for sure, but they were awesome in the synchronized swimming events they did. Not a good fish if your wanting to spawn/breed other fish in the tank they'll make sure of that, they even managed to keep the convict population completely under control LOL |

| It's funny you guys mentioned leporinus. I was at the Baltimore Aquarium just a few weeks ago and in one of their tanks were a few with some pacu and some other cichlids. I watched them picking at a big head of lettuce with the pacus looking totally mellow. It put bad thoughts in my head about things that could live with mine. |
