i am getting back in the hobby its been about 5 years now so anyway i am getting a 55 gallon i like cichlids what kind should i get thanks crazyjoe

Welcome to FWM, crazyjoe! I'd stick with smaller African mbuna or small to mid-sized Central or South Americans. Did ya have any idea what ya would like? There are so many species available now, it would be much easier if ya had one or two species in mind and then we could give ya advice on building around them.

Ditto above poster, You have plenty of options in a 55g but I would start by researching what kinds you like. Also how you plan to set the tank up, live plants, fake, lots of rocks.....and filtration.....
