I went to 4 different stores to try and find a 40 breeder to use as a hospital/quarantine tank for big boys, after having to treat a ginormus red devil for fungus in a 25.

Thankfully I know someone who can order me one, but I never realized they were such an uncommon and hard to find size.

Do you all ever see them in your travels, or am I mistaken and that is a oddball tank size?

No one carries breeder tanks down here either
That was one reason that when a few months back I got a chance at a stack of them
I went ahead and bought them ever if I didn't really need them
besides you never have to many tanks

Almost every petco I have been too has the 40g breeders....have you checked craigslist?

Petco has two on the shelves now, here. But they won't order me a 15.

I'm wondering if it's an east coast thing then.

Wyite, are the 40s at your Petco the ones with the built in screen lids? Mine has Zilla brand ones but they say all over the packaging that they're not supposed to hold water. If they were cheap enough I'd be tempted to get 'em and just reinforce the seals, but they're not. Wink

Speaking of Petco, I talked to the manager girl I know there. They don't have 15s in their system, but they do have 16s that they can order.

They have two of those, but two regular 40 breeders as well. Surprised the hell outta me.
