| I have read that you can use salt with plecos, as long as you add it a little at a time. keep an eye on your pleco to be sure it is OK if you do so. I have treated for Ich in the past with a pleco in the tank using salt and increased temp with no problems, but I may have just gotten lucky. _________________

I have 2 air pumps going too. I just bought some jungle ick tabs from walmart that i might try |

| I have used salt with plecs and have had no problems. The ich treatment you bought from WalMart will probably be more harmful to the plecs than the salt will be. |

| I would try and avoid using any meds.I would Increase the water temperature up to 85-88 degrees. Us aeration by adding air stones, warm water doesn't hold as much oxygen. Along with a temperature change and added aeration, add about one teaspoon aquarium salt per gallon to the water to help the fish recover from the stress caused by the disease. Salt is also harmful to Ich. Do a 50 percent water change on a daily for a week. I have followed this method with great success. _________________ |

| Daily water changes are not necessary. In fact I think it will add more stress to the fish with ICH. You really cant do much besides heat and salt and wait it out. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.
