| Just went to go look at my tank and it looks like my Junior.( my male oscar) has ich. I noticed it had a few white spots. What do I do, do I buy medication, do I raise the temp in the tank, do I do a water change?
He and as well as the other fish are swimming normal and eating good. |

| If it's ick, I reccommend the salt treatment. Are the other fish showing symptoms as well? _________________ Tina

I would recommend 1 to 3 teaspoons of salt per gallon. I usually use 2 teaspoons per gallon myself. Take some water out of your tank add some salt to it (small amounts at a time-don't add it all at once) then mix it well and pour it back in the tank. Every 20 to 30 min. do the same routine until all the salt has been added. It will take several hours. Also the heat should be raised gradually but it looks like that has already been done. |

| Would the salt hurt my fish in anyway? Also is their enough salt in the package to do 2tsp per gal? |

| For a 100 gal. that is 200 teaspoons or 66 tablespoons of salt. A whole lot of salt. Another reason for the quarrantine tank I had mentioned to you before. It allows you to catch the disease before it is introduced to a large tank and you would be able to treat a smaller volume of water.
Since the tank is so big you may want to cut back to 1 teaspoon per gallon which is...
100 teaspoons or 33 tablespoons. |

| Oh...and it won't harm your fish unless you add the salt all at once or don't dilute it in water first. |

| Just get plain table salt, much cheaper and easier to mix. For 100g you can add 1.5 canisters safely which is approx. 200 tsp. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Just make sure that you don't get the iodized table salt, get the plain.
