| I have, used cool cathalode lights and mounted them in my fixtures with separate timers. Looked pretty nice too. Had blue on the 120g and red on the 55g. Real easy to do too all you need for the mod is an adjustable ac converter and the lights. I will put some pics up if I can find some. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | I did a search on cathode lights and found a post on our forum on the first search result page. Mike D posted about a retro fit he had done and you posted a pic of your tank with those lights, very cool. _________________ |

| i use red lights on a couple of tanks and have a few with led moon phase too. I just wired in an extra light socket int my hood and used a low watt, 15 or 20 max, red bulb. |

| Ya, but that takes all the fun out of it. Plus it can be cheaper to make your own. _________________ |

| I just put 6 blue LEDs on my discus tank, and its awsome to look at. The light lets me see in te tank at night to watch the fish and makes the room lookreally cool too. I have night lights on all but one of my tanks now in some form or another and wouldnt go back |

| Now I am going to have to retrofit a new lighting system, I have the itch for moonlights. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die".
