Nice dude, I am bored with some of my fish and am going to get rid of some of my big dogs....I am thinking I might do a discus tank with about 10 of them.

Seeing how pretty yours are makes me want to try them again sometime, but I seriously could not deal if I got another batch of wusses like last time.

Got them from John.

They were really pretty and healthy and all that, but the hiding, the skittishness, and did I mention the hiding. If I came within 5 feet of the tank they'd all hide in the plants and mostly stay there until I left.

I ended up letting my mom take them, they still don't like people, but she has far more patience for 'em then I do, so she doesn't mind.

Yea. They still didn't give me any love. It may have been my own fault though. I might have expected them to act more like cichlids than they ever really do.

I've had a few uaru in the past and I was told behavior wise they were very similar to discus, but the uaru could hang with JDs no trouble, but I'm near 100% sure that even the tiniest of JDs would make the discus it's bitch. Smile

Um yes. My discus when I come into the room will swim right up to the glass and follow me but if I make any quick moves they will freekout and swim franticly trying to find a place to hide.

If you do get discus try and make your presents known from an early age be it when feeding them, doing a water change or just hanging out watching them swim.
