| Unfortunately, the previous thread about this calculator got lost, so I am creating another one in its place. To access the app, please click on AqAdvisor site. Remember, I did my best to make the app as flexible as possible so that I can describe individual species behaviors as close to reality as possible but in many cases I don't know the answers to them. It has many general rules, which by default, it will follow. Then I can create exceptions for those specific cases that don't work. If you find the app reporting wrong results, please let me know - you are helping me by doing this, and others who will use the same combo later on. Hundreds if not thousands of feedback have already been integrated but there's still much to go! Thanks in advance! |

| Well I put the link up in the useful links section, actually I had Grumpa do it. Also I put two jags in a 125g which is the setup I have with only two filters and it works out pretty ok as far as stocking and filtration requirements. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Sounds good.
Let me know if you ever find any results that look wrong.
Thanks. |

| Why do all these threads keep getting deleted??? Let's all refrain from pushing the big "X" that says delete when we are moderating a thread It's too bad we lost it there were some good discussions on there. |

| I think it was something to do with how much space they needed in a tank due to shape maybe. Not sure though! _________________ LIFE IS SHORT, LIVE IT LIKE THERE IS NO TOMMOROW!!!!

My memory must be worse than yours...
But we can talk about it here. How would torpedo shape (i.e. slim?) affect space needed? |

Ahhh...I see. It took me a couple of times messing with the merge thing before it actually made any sense. I wonder if the forum host company has directions on merging and such that can be posted in the Mod section. Try not to lose any sleep over it |

| The torepdo disscusion was about Puntius Denisonii. They are about 4-5 inches and need space due their shape and are fast swimmers. I had a 29g high put in and these fish showed up. I have seen a 5 incher at my LFS. They still have the stunning fish in a show tank which is about 125g full of assorted mid-sized community fish. Also, he/she is in w/ a 4 incher and about five 3 inchers. Fun to watch those 7 run from one end to the other. I've wanted those a few months ago but, was lead a way saying minimium of 55 gallons since they like space. And that torpedo shape means fast swimmer |

Tank length is the real issue with denisonii, rather than volume. As SBL said, they avg. 4.5"-5", up to 5.5",and are a fast schooling fish. Volume wise a 29 may be enough, but IMO a 30 inch tank is too short. It would be akin to tryin' to keep a school of 3-4 balas in a 75. Ya could do it, but it wouldn't be fair to the fish.
