Well, they are at it again. Displaying, dark color, cleaning off a spot. Even though their last spawn was 2 weeks ago. Could it be the change in temps that making them get the urge? I added a heater yesterday evening. and it's set at 80 to get it warm and adjustments will be made when it's stable.
Also, they aren't protecting rock yet and plecs are aware of whats going to happen and are actually trying to stop them by running through them when displaying.

Nice!! They spawn when they are happy so you must be keeping the tank maintenance under control. I find that spawning often times occurs after a large water change which could be attributed to water temp changes (similar to a rainfall in the wild) but it could also be attributed to nice clean water which IME also triggers spawning.

Could be the 3 gallons of cool (bout 65F) water I added after installing heater to replace evaporation over past week. Gonna due some serious cleaning today. They are defending a different rock. I also aded some more rocks. They will be happy when I et my plants.

I find that by doing larger wc and setting my temps @ 84 helps alot in triggering spawning activity as does live foods a few days leading up to wc. good luck and keep up the good job. we want :fsh: pics cheers
