I picked up a second pair of rams and put them in my 40 planted tank( I have learned that when fish like Greman blue rams are in Tucson to buy them I was unsure of the sex so I figured to let them grow. I was wacthing them last night and I am proud to report that they have spawned. I am hopeing that they can and will be good parnets and raise there babys. The only other fish in with them is 5 golden penical fish that are to small to go in my 60 gal will keep you updated.

Cool and congrats, good luck! It might take them a few tries before they get the hang of caring for their fry.

Congrats! I love the GBR's but i've never had luck keeping them over a month or two. The are beautiful fish. Would love to see pictures.

Congrats on the new fish and the spawn! The first pair of GBR's I ever had spawned and I was so excited. Then I found out afterward that they were both female and the eggs were not fertilized. Have you successfully sexed them yet? If not look for the pink belly and that is your female.

They will, and they will get the hang of things sooner or later.

I also found some wild caught Apisto cacetuoides I put hem in my 60 gal last night I was feeding and noticed that the female had 35 or 40 free swimming fry with her I am worried that they wont survie long in a commuity tank the tertars will eat them before long I guessed abuot thier sex they where both small I guessed right I want hem to spawn again so as soon as I have the space I will moave them to a tank of there own and try again. My Taeniocara candidi are doing well they grow slow so I am not real srue about sex yet. :gotcichlids: :usa: :fsh:
