My dwarf gurami has a small red ulcer... I treated her with antibiotics for 4 days and it seems to get larger

Did anyone had any luck with treating an ulcer on their fish?

It depends on what is causing the ulcer. Do you have any pics or a better description of it? What are your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels? Frequent water changes and some salt could also help if you haven't tried that yet.

Thanks for your reply! it's gotten bigger over the last couple of days and I stopped the E.M. ERYTHROMYCIN after 4 days as the ulcer did not get better.

I cannot upload the pics - it's started looking like a little pimple with red base with a white head. The next day the white head was gone and left a small red ulcer... then the white film came back. Now the red ulcer is bigger about a 1 mm

i appreciate any help you can offer

Iridovirus in Gouramis looks just the way you explained it. This is a disease I read that Dwarf Gouramis have been getting. Here is a link: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/fa035

You should have dosed for the full treatment period noted on the bottle. Sometimes the problem will get worse before it gets better. It could still be a bacterial infection but it may also be viral. If it is viral the only real treatment is extra clean water...so you should up your water change routine for a while.
