What is it meant to do? I have seen people use a UGF and reverse the flow (RUGF) in order to blow the crud out of the gravel and then suck it up with a canister or some other type of filter. Is that what you're looking to do?

ya thats the idea i guess. i just liked the idea of the the water movement in the tank without 6 powerheads all over the place.

Undergravel Jets are an always on RUGF.

Depending on tank size it's usually just a pump or two, with PVC bent and twisted into branching paths, and then crimped on the ends. It's on par with adding a jacuzzi to the bottom of your tank, makes for it having no dead spots anywhere and makes it so the crud can't stay on the bottom.

I'm not positive but I think it's some sort of bastardization of the close loop thing they do on salty tanks.

Tried it.. Not a fan. Moves the crud from one spot to another. Doesn't really keep it suspended in the water so filters can get it. I prefer the Koralia water fans. Much more efficient at moving water and keeping the curd off the bottom.

hey dragon are those on par with a simple powerhead? im gonna make one of these and try it out and if i dont like it i can just leave the pvc buried till i get around to taking it out. my tank is so overstocked that i have a hard time keepin the water clean with 2 large canister filters and 5 powerheads all with sponges on them. i gotta post some questions in the question area
