I believe he/she is a House Finch. He has some red on his head, and seems to be new to flying, since he is small but, can barely fly. What should I do, he lets us pick it up, and seems pretty calm. What should I do, and feed him till he can fly away? He also may be a a purple finch.

yeah, he was limp and started to become solid. I saved a bird about a year ago, birds sometimes end up in the pond. The goldfish like birds for some reason and try to eat them.

Birds can be tough to bring back to health in captivity.

Unless you're really good with them or it's really obvious, birds are hard to tell what's wrong with them most of the time. Also, my understanding is that finches aren't really down with being alone either.

yeah it is hard to tell with birds what is wrong when they are sick and or injured. best thing to do with injured or sick bird is get to the vet immediately. as you can tell from my facebook pics i got birds cats and the fish. So i have busy days.
