So, me and a friend occasionally toss around the idea of setting up a small zoo and/or aquarium. This time we ended up out on a bit of a tangent.

You can keep 5 types of animals. There is no limit to the resources available. You have whatever food/land/habitat/veterinary requirements at your disposal. There's also no limit to the number of said animal. Flock, school, what have you, breeding or anything else you would/could normally do is allowed.

Optional, since we were talking about zoos, is: Why would people come see them?

Anyway, to start with, one of my top choices was to have a small petting/feeding area with Aldabra tortoises. They're big, they don't mind people right off the bat, and with some regular interaction they get real accustomed to people real fast.

I had more ideas, but what would you have?

Would love to have a buffalo farm, A Koi pond would be nice as well. Long horned sheep have always amused me.

I've always been a huge fan of cheetahs. I just think it would be amazing to see them in a natural habitat chasing down their prey.

I could think of endless amounts of animals I would love to keep but I think the best case scenario is always a natural type of habitat. Some of the coolest places I have been to allow the animals to roam freely and you can drive through the parks or a guided bus takes you through to observe the animals.

A native animal park is always cool too. There is one I have been to in Grey, ME which is a great idea. They have a lot of native animals and even ones you may have never expected were native to the area. Granted the one in Grey is not large enough to allow the animals all to roam somewhat freely but a combination of these two ideas would be a sweet thing IMO.

This is a good thread to bring back to life, MC.

"Another breath of life" This could be an interesting discussion on how different people from different areas look at things.

The first thing I noticed with this that it is 5 "types" not looking any futher then what is there.
This can be a rather loaded question going as basic as possible.

I would have to go with Fishes, Birds, Reptiles, Mammals and Amphibians maybe not exactly in that order but to take the question literally the possibilites would be rather endless.

Why would people come, well because it would be the biggest in the world ...lol

I would have (1) wolves, to study their interaction as a pack, as far as how their pecking order works

2. a Huge Grizzly Bear

3. a herd of elephants

4. a huge aquarium, probably Marine, I have a lot to learn there.

5. and a partridge in a pear tree,
:hiding1: did i say that out loud????

I would recommend going with the partridge under the pear tree. If you plant some shrubbery and/or grasses under the tree the partridge would like it much better as they are ground nesting birds Wink
