Holy sh@%!! That must be a lake trout. They don't get that big in the rivers around here. Nice catch!!

Amazing coloration and size. Too bad he was 2 LBS shy of the record. You should of stuffed some lead weights down his throat. Razz

It's not mine, an electrician I work with. I've never caught anything that big. He said it was 2 ozs shy. I must have misremembered and it was 25 lbs and some change, I thought it was 23 from memory and its been over a year since he caught it. Have to ask him if I see him tomorrow. Anyways, the game warden told him it probly would have broke the record if he'd gotten to a certified scale sooner, but that it probly lost 6-8 ozs. in the cooler in the two hours it took to get there.

I think he was lookin' to have it mounted, I know I would.

The state record is 25 lbs 13 ozs. I double checked after Apocalypse posted. I know the 2 ozs shy is correct, so I got 23 pounds incorrectly stuck in my head somewhere along the line.
