| Well I got another Jack Dempsey today...My LFS got a lot of new fish in and just so happened to have about 20 EBJD about 1.75 in. size. Got him in the 20g right now as a grow out. He has been non stop cruising the tank sense I got him...tried to snap some pics but my better camera is dead and I cant find the power cord. Here are a couple I managed to get but they really do him no justice. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | They looked very healthy...we will see if he makes it to 3+ inches, I am hoping to have a full grown EBJD..he seems to be eating already, fingers crossed. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | I think he will be fine despite all the stories of them being delicate! _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die".

| Well I went back and bought another one....Hoping to get a pair one is larger than the other and was the biggest in the tank...I know I should of bought a group but I really didn't have the money to buy 4 more at 28.99 a piece. Oh and thanks for the nice replies! _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | Don't forget, at the present time there hasn't been a successful EB X EB breeding (all fry have died within 10 days free-swimming). That's why Blue Gene JDs are so expensive. They are needed to either pair together or to an EB to produce viable offspring.

| Good to know Mark...I think I knew that already...just passed my mind...I forgot about allthingsdempsey too just logged in and asked a couple questions...very good site for JD's. I should of purchased them from yankeejack.
I woke up this morning and both EBJD's were laying on their side, I thought they were dead...went to scoop them out and the took off. Kind of hiding all day and laying on the bottom...So I did another water change about 20%. The tank is bare bottom so I think they just need more security...I taped a black towel to both sides of the tank and a piece of paper to the bottom. Sense I did so they have been full of energy cruising all over the tank. They seem healthy as hell now...I think they just like the security of the glass covered on the sides and bottom. Doing great now!!!! _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | You all may be sick of hearing about it but yet another update...
I noticed the older one (the one I got first) had ICH. Now mind you I am rally amused by these guys and want both to live. So I figured I better do something. With all the hype of these fish being weak and what not I didn't want to go the salt treatment, one because I was worried about them being sensitive to the slat and two I thought it may take longer to get the salt level up. I went to Petsmart and got some malachite green and a UV sterilizer. I put the meds in when I got home and hooked up the UV sterilizer, oh and bought an airstone and dug a air pump out for more circulation and O2. The sterelizer I bought is a 24w which is rated for 50-130 gallon tank, (I think I went a little overboard). Anyway just wanted to give the update....I will keep everyone posted! _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production.
