| Well that is what I have pictures of. Fish are to hard to take pictures of, but I might try later to at least try to take pictures of my tanks/set ups. I have to go pick up my Vitimen B 12 Injection and give it to myself this evening so I will try to remember to do it as soon as I can. Enjoy! |

| Awesome, It looks like you and your birds really have a good bond. The fish are nice, I also like the betta....thanks for sharing. _________________ "There he goes - one of God's own prototypes - a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. | my set ups - this is my 40 gallon tank (38 to be exact) these are my almost twins- one long one tall. top 15 gallon tetra bottom 14 gallon guppy and platy to the left you should see the first 3 gallon that houses my Royal crown-he might go in with my dano's This should be my 30 gallon Dano/glolite tank where I feel my royal crown would be happiest as he was there before and he liked swimming with other fish. I just worry because I had my females (4 of them) in my 40 with my live bearers and they killed $100 worth of them in two days. Then turned on each other. my last to 3 gallon tanks cared for by my parrot Maggie. Yeah right... but they are happy with their algea eater and their snail. |

| Oh one more thing. The twin tanks, the one on top is kept child like as it is more for my neice who gave it to me. It was her tank and stand but they lost power and are sadly living in there camper, hooked to our power and to thier water until they lose that too. They asked if I would like another aquiarium and I said I would love to rescue/adopt it. I have added fish till it is to full and I know shame shame shame but some times it's just nice to be able to see the colors work with each other in a tank. I do need to get my tanks established as well as my neices is so that I can move her algea eater and loach (dwarf Pleco sometimes they are known as) I will try to take a picture of it and have you guys identify it. I haven't nailed it down. But I am sure it is a loach. I want to get a weather loach so I know I have to add another tank in the future. Hubby is totally against it, so I have to find someone on freecycle giving away a good sized aquarium with most all the equipment. And I have to find a place to put one of my parrots or I have to find a new home for my recliner-which I use for health reasons. I want another tank sooooooo bad! I want that weather loach. What fish would you recommend I put with a weather loach if I ever get another tank? |

The three birds and I each have a different relationship but each just as close. Though there for a little while my Baby, Olive the green dudette we didn't think was going to work out with me at all, and we were all set to move her to my sons room. She was always bitting me and she still does but not like she did. She bit through my index finger nail bed to and through the skin underneath. In my thirthy some years of doing parrot rescue I have never had a bird do that and I have only worked with the worst of the worst birds. I also have these two great lap dogs, both AKC registered Yorkshire Terriors. One that falls with in the standards except the ears don't stand, and the second breaks every standard set for these dogs and could never show in the Dog Shows. She is 13 lbs over weight, and I couldn't tell you how much of the height standard she breaks but it is leaps and bounds. She tries to be a lap dog but no matter how hard she tries she can't fit in anyone's lap. She hangs over every where and weighs so much you don't want her there. It is so funny to see the two side by side and know they are both AKC registered and the same breed. My fish are my peace of mind. When my sister twist my words in my e mail and says if I write her back she will e mail everything I have ever said to every one on her mailing list and everyone will know what a BITCH I really am. So I said go for it and that is all I said and she re wrote a 4 page e mail I was suppose to have written and I got so many phone calls, I finally stopped answering them and e mails were just deleted and blocked. But I had my fish to keep me calm and I never once had my blood Pressure stayed, 80/60 never once fluctuated. So she accomplished nothing. Thank God for Fish, Dogs and Parrots, and my Daughter. |

| Ooops my net addy is www.emogurl.net It's about if people can be emo so can pets and we have to keep that in mind when we get a dog with emotional issues or a parrot that plucks. I have worked with Avians for 30+ years and I have loved every second of it even when Wook bit through my lip and I needed stitches, when paulie bit my finger to the bone not once but four times before it even healed from the first time and I have scars to show for it all over my arms, legs, face, ears... but I don't care, because Every Animal I took in I took in knowing he / She needed someone who would take the time to show him that biting wasn't the solution it was the problem. I use a rewards for good behavor technic that is different than any I have seen before. I am now trying to put it in place to train my two stupid dogs (i SAW TO MANY CARTOONS) to be my working dogs for my handicap so that I can continue my work at the phone, in my home, and on line. |

| I live about seven hours away from WV. I'm in south central Kentucky. If you look on the map i'm right on the Tennessee boarder. About 40 minutes north of Nashville. I'm still in the reading stage when it comes to getting a bird. I plan on doing a lot of reading. I originally wanted a quaker parrot, but for some reason they are illegal to own in Kentucky. I haven't found out why, seems silly but i'm sure they have their reasons. I plan on getting young birds that have been hand raised. There is a place just south of me that raise beautiful sun conures.(I'm reading up on them too) I'm still planning and need to do a lot more research before getting anything. I loved the site. Your photobucket pictures are awesome!!!! Your birds look healthy and happy. Sure not hard to see what a good job you are doing with them. _________________ Tina

| Nice pics, cool tanks and neat critters.
I think African grays are the coolest birds. Was yours habd-raised? What kind of a vocabulary does he have?

| The birds I have now, the grey, the brat, I mean the Pattagonian Conure and the Citron crestested Cockatoo were all hand raised. The grey is a third hand bird and i am the only one and I do mean the only one that can handle him and that is as long as no one else is in the room. Some times he will sit on my sons knee, but that is about as much interaction he will have with anyone else. If I try to reach for him with any one in the room with some exceptions, he will try to take my finger off or hand. The patty bites me but does well with everyone else. Me being an avian behaviorist has decided he will not get the best of me that was until he bit me so hard he bit through my nail all the way to the skin below making it bleed. Believe it or not it is not bruised but you can see it still as it grows out. Maggie came to me as a surrender/rescue. Her owner was 78 years old and to old to take care of her any more and asked specifically for me to take her once she heard of my credentials. Once I saw her diet -she was allowed to eat an all seed diet that was fortified with extra white striped sunflower seeds bought from a feed store. The mix was so lopsided her feathers were suffering. I have her on a pellet diet and she loves it and I do mean she loves is. She was also allowed jelly beans, chocolate, all the things she shouldn't have. She doesn't get them here because I want to extend her life another 50 years if I can. I don't know how much damage has been done to here insides but her plumage has suffered majorly. She is the sweetest bird I have of the three. She spends 90-99% of the time on my shoulder or knee or somewhere on me when she is not eating. She is a sweetie and if she loves you she lets you know by letting out a scream if you leave my room. She wouldn't let my husband leave tonight until he cleaned her cage. It was so cool because I got out of one of my few chores. |

You didn't here this from me....but I know several people that own Quakers in KY. The trick is to find a Avian Vet that will treat them before you buy one and don't give out your name when calling and use number blocking when calling so they don't get your number. That is if you want a Quaker. I didn't like them all that much untill I adopted Booger and Boo as rescues when I was doing rescue and rehoming. They have been homed already but Boo and Boog both were very loving birds. I don't recomend any bird from the conure family except maybe a green cheeks if you can get it as a baby that has been weened for at least three to six weeks. GC are the quietest of the conures, Suns. Jendays and nandays being the loudest. I don't think there is a conure besides the GC that are soft spoken and non screamers. Suns, Nandays and Jendays came through my rescue so often because they were screamers and they couldn't stop it. People would put them in closets and just give them food and water. Now these were unlit closets and it gave the poor pets all sorts of fears for me to work through before I could even begin to work on the screaming. If you want a Parrot, I really suggest you start reading up on the medium sized birds. Goffin Cockatoo's, Timin Greys, Citron crested cockatoos, There is a bunch of them type in medium sized parrots. They are a little more expensive but you really will be much happier with them if you have small children, it's important to teach them right away hands away from the bird, and the cage no matter what size bird you get. |
