Well, a week ago my HRPs laid another batch. 2 days later, the eggs were gone. Wed. Day, I noticed male protecting about 100-150 fry that could not swim yet. Thurs day morning, I saw about half freeswimming. Friday, all were freeswimming and eating. Today, I rescaped tank, and so I killed little fry, removed all I could see. Added fry back and I now have 4 tore up plecos, 2 pissed of parents, and about 100 babies. Give me tons of Goodluck w\ this batch. Gonna get a 10g on the 9th and transfer babies and male to there. also gonna cut one of my intakes down to fit it in 10 and add one of the Aquatechs. Gonna get a small Hush 20 and cycle it before adding it to 10.

fry are about 3/4 a cm now. show very little color, are darkening little. I managed to hatch Brine Shrimp using 6.8 PH water, cold water, maybe 60F. I did add some salt to water. Workd well and my fry have big orange bellies. I need more now.

There's a teacher supply store by me where I grabbed a brine shrimp ("sea monkey") kit that uses a 2l bottle and a air pump. It came with premixed brine shrimp and salt packets and omg was it wonderfully lazy. Smile

If HRPs are like Convicts, you should be able to get away with freeze dried blood worms and flakes crushed into dust.

I just cut top potion of a 2l bottle off and made a base out of another bottle. Added my own salt. I use just use Ice cream rock salt.

That works too, but you get no lazy points for it. Wink

I'm having one problem... the pair are killing off the tatras. Today, my school of six Serpaes has been reduced. Anyone wonder if I should take back my Serpaes cuzz they have a little fuzzy looking piece the size of a grain of sand on the tip of their bottom jaw. None of the Serpaes will eat alot. One of my Garnets has the same fuzzy piece on the jaw but, he atleast eats, or looks like he's eaten. My trio of Garnets is doing good. They have big bellies. They are a little small, maybe inch ATM. Might get rid of Serpaes for Black Skirts or Columbians.

I think I have already pointed out that tank mates should be remover during spawning.

Hmmm...you asked if you should bring your tetras back and MC said yes. Now you say you can't take them back?

You should take them back to wherever you were talking about and it's probably not a good idea to replace them with another type of fish right now.

If you can't get them out anywhere, get a divider or something. Those tetra are gonna get owned.

fixed it
I took a small tub, maybe 2 quarts in size, and I filled it till an inch full, added fry, and it's floating in tank. I put it in a fixed postion. I'll got get a 10 and some breeder nets later this week when I take back dead fish and serpaes for half back. Any fish or live animal your not happy with or dies within 2 weeks is legiable to be replaced with same animal for half price or a gift card w/ credit in amount of half you payed. My chance expires on 23rd. Gonna go tommorow probaly.
